pwdhash - Generator of password hashes
SYNOPSIS
pwdhash [-D config-dir] [-H] [-s scheme | -c comparepwd] password
DESCRIPTION
Generates password hashes which can also be used in LDIF password fields. This uses the Directory Server password generator.
OPTIONS
A summary of options is included below:
-H Show summary of options.
-s scheme
Password scheme to be used (e.g. MD5, SHA1, SHA256, SHA512, SSHA, SSHA256, SSHA512)
-c comparepassword
Password to be compared against
-D configdir
Takes the password schema directly from the ns-slapd configuration

repl-monitor - Directory Server replication monitor
SYNOPSIS
repl-monitor -f configuration-file [-h host] [-p port] [-r] [-u refresh-url] [-t refresh-interval] [-v]

Outputs the status of all of the configured Directory Servers participating in replication. The servers to query for status are specified
in the configuration file.

Is there a website where I can get a listing of all the password characteristics and their locations for Sun Solaris systems?
For example, Maxweeks and Minweeks is found in the /etc/default/password file and are the parameters that define what is the max/min time for users... (2 Replies)

I am using Red Hat OS 5.0, is there any way that i can password protect directories. I know i can change permission so that no other user can access the content, but sometimes in my office environment i need to share vnc terminal with other people from my login itself.
