sam_finalize - Terminate SAM service
SYNOPSIS
#include <corosync/sam.h>
cs_error_t sam_finalize (void);
DESCRIPTION
The sam_finalize function is used to terminate SAM API. Once the connection is finalized, the SAM may not be used again by application.
Whole functionality (health checking) will be stopped and after application fail, recovery action will not be taken.
RETURN VALUE
This call return CS_OK value if successful, otherwise and error is returned.
ERRORS
CS_ERR_BAD_HANDLE
library was not initialized by sam_init(3) function or was finished already.

sam_stop - Stop health checking
SYNOPSIS
#include <corosync/sam.h>
cs_error_t sam_stop (void);
DESCRIPTION
The sam_stop function is used to stop health checking of an active process. After calling this function, the application no longer should
send helathchecks. In the case of event driven healthchecking, the healthchecking thread will be stopped.
A process can always start health checking again by calling sam_start(3) function.
RETURN VALUE
This call return CS_OK value if successful, otherwise and error is returned.

I am having a problem on an HP box, where I am being told that there are too many open files. I am also being told I need to change a SAM file. Could some help me understand what a SAM files is and what it is used for.

Hi,
I need to use SAM on HP-UX 11.11.
SAM was working fully but now when I try to view the "Configurable Parameters" SAM comes back with an empty window.
I think it may be related to some security rules I implemented but cannot be sure (mainly permissions tightening).

How can I add a user to a specific group without using SAM? I know I can user modprpw -G, but that will overwrite any groups the user is in with the ones I specify.

Posted this question in another segment by error, but here goes. Lost my notes on the location of the 5min shutdown warning when using SAM. I set my single user system to 0mins so I don't have to keep backspacing out the 5mins and changing it to 0mins.
