lvmconf - LVM configuration modifier
SYNOPSIS
lvmconf [--disable-cluster] [--enable-cluster] [--file <configfile>] [--lockinglib <lib>] [--lockinglibdir <dir>]
DESCRIPTION
lvmconf is a script that modifies the locking configuration in an lvm configuration file. See lvm.conf(5).
OPTIONS --disable-cluster
Set locking_type to the default non-clustered type. Also reset lvmetad use to its default.
--enable-cluster
Set locking_type to the default clustered type on this system. Also disable lvmetad use as it is not yet supported in clustered
environment.
--file <configfile>
Apply the changes to configfile instead of the default /etc/lvm/lvm.conf.
--lockinglib <lib>
Set external locking_library locking library to load if an external locking type is used.
--lockinglibdir <dir>
FILES
/etc/lvm/lvm.conf

lvmetad - LVM metadata cache daemon
SYNOPSIS
lvmetad [-l {all|wire|debug}] [-p pidfile_path] [-s socket_path] [-f] [-h] [-V] [-?]
DESCRIPTION
lvmetad is a metadata caching daemon for LVM. The daemon receives notifications from udev rules (which must be installed for LVM to work
correctly when lvmetad is in use). Through these notifications, lvmetad has an up-to-date and consistent image of the volume groups avail-
able in the system.
By default, lvmetad, even if running, is not used by LVM. See lvm.conf(5).
OPTIONS
To run the daemon in a test environment both the pidfile_path and the socket_path should be changed from the defaults.
-f Don't fork, but run in the foreground.
-h, -? Show help information.
-l {all|wire|debug}
Select the type of log messages to generate. Messages are logged by syslog. Additionally, when -f is given they are also sent to
standard error. Since release 2.02.98, there are two classes of messages: wire and debug. Selecting 'all' supplies both and is
equivalent to a comma-separated list -l wire,debug. Prior to release 2.02.98, repeating -d from 1 to 3 times, viz. -d, -dd, -ddd,
increased the detail of messages.
-p pidfile_path
Path to the pidfile. This overrides both the built-in default (#DEFAULT_PID_DIR#/lvmetad.pid) and the environment variable
LVM_LVMETAD_PIDFILE. This file is used to prevent more than one instance of the daemon running simultaneously.
-s socket_path
Path to the socket file. This overrides both the built-in default (/run/lvm/lvmetad.socket) and the environment variable
LVM_LVMETAD_SOCKET. To communicate successfully with lvmetad, all LVM2 processes should use the same socket path.
-V Display the version of lvmetad daemon.
ENVIRONMENT VARIABLES
LVM_LVMETAD_PIDFILE
Path for the pid file.
LVM_LVMETAD_SOCKET
Path for the socket file.

Hiya,
Is there a known method from converting LVM data to VxVM data..
ie we have a load of local and SAN (HPDM) mounts on RHEL 4u5/5u1 servers which are now required to be clustered with SFS (VxFS,VxVM,CFS,VCS etc)
I've come across the vxvmconvert, but thought that was HP-UX only?
Many... (3 Replies)
Hi,
I have red hat enterprise 4. I would like to add more space on my lvm from the first partition that is not lvm type.
Here's the config

Disk /dev/sda: 73.4 GB, 73406611456 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 8924 cylinders

Hi All,
I am going to perform some activity in 2Node HA Server(Active/Passive).
For that i have to do some pre-requsite (ie., Resource Group VG's should be Enhanced-Concurrent)
In my setup, we have two volume groups in one RG. In that one VG is Normal and another is Enhance Concurrent.

Hey guys, wondering if this is possible to accomplish.

Hi Guys,
Looking for advice really this time, I have just completed building a server. As it was a fresh build and was just a standard RHEL 6.6 server which would run TSM I just went for partitioning up the disks as I built it.

In principle it is possible to create FSes on shared volume groups with cluster methods (also known as C-SPOC), either from the command line or using the respective SMIT menus. In practice, however, many options are missing in the C-SPOC variants. For instance, it is not possible to add a... (6 Replies)
Hi folks,

I am working on a script to get the final total size and so far have the following and wondering if this can be improved.
