giws -- Generate C++ class wrappers to call Java methods/objects
SYNOPSIS
giws [-hf, --description-file] [-o, --output-dir] [-p, --per-package] [-e, --throws-exception-on-error] [--header-extension-file] [--body-
extension-file] [-v, --version] [-h, --help]
DESCRIPTION
Giws is basically doing the same stuff as SWIG but the opposite.
Calling Java from C/C++ can be tricky: JNI calls are complicated
especially when dealing with non primivite types or arrays,
performance issues must be kept in mind all the time,
the code can be redundant (checking exceptions, checking returns
of operations...).
Giws hides this complexity through a C++ class which wraps the
Java class.
OPTIONS -f, --description-file Description of the method of the Java Object.
-o, --output-dir
The directory where to export files
-p, --per-package
Generates CXX/HXX files per package
-e, --throws-exception-on-error
Throws a C++ exception instead of an exit(EXIT_FAILURE)
--header-extension-file
Specify the extension of the header file generated [Default : .hxx]
--body-extension-file
Specify the extension of the body file generated [Default : .cpp]
-v --version
Display the version information
-h --help
Display the help

Listen, if you know a bit of programming in C and need to program unix-type operating systems the next transitive stage is for sure C++. However, have in mind that Java is like learning C but 99% object-oriented(o.o.) and with no pointers or memory-management tricks. It would be good for you to see... (5 Replies)

I have some C++ code and want to have the class declarations in a .h file and the implementation in the .cpp file.
It seems however that for templates everything need to be put in the header (.h) file and will have problems if I try to separate the code to a .cpp file.
Is this correct? Is... (1 Reply)
Hello, I have a technical problem: I work on AIX 7.1 with Java 1.7 (32 and 64 bit) and I make an application that intercepts certain functions related to time. Hi
How can I write a Java program to execute Linux commands? What is the best approach:
Invoking the Linux shell within Java and executing commands
or, using the Java APIs to do the stuff. Since it is platform independent, it'll know itself what to do. We need not check which OS the Java... (1 Reply)
