Math::Fibonacci(3pm) User Contributed Perl Documentation Math::Fibonacci(3pm)NAME
Math::Fibonacci - Fibonacci numbers.
VERSION
$Revision: 1.5 $
SYNOPSIS
use Math::Fibonacci qw(term series decompose);
my $term = term ( 42 );
my @series = series ( 42 );
my @sum = decompose ( 65535 );
DESCRIPTION
This module provides a few functions related to Fibonacci numbers.
EXPORTS ON REQUEST
term(), series() decompose(), isfibonacci()
FUNCTIONS
term($n)
Returns the $n-th term of the Fibonacci sequence. The term is computed using the fast algorithm: "F(n) ~ g^n/sqrt(5)", where g is the
golden ratio and ~ means "take the nearest integer".
series($n)
Computes and returns the first $n Fibonacci numbers.
decompose($int)
Decomposes $int into the sum of Fibonacci numbers. Returns the list of Fibonacci numbers.
isfibonacci($int)
Returns the sequence number of $int if it is a Fibonacci number or a non-true value if it is not.

Heap::Elem::NumRev - Reversed Numeric Heap Elements
SYNOPSIS
use Heap::Elem::NumRev( NumRElem );
use Heap::Fibonacci;
my $heap = Heap::Fibonacci->new;
my $elem;
foreach $i ( 1..100 ) {
$elem = NumRElem( $i );
$heap->add( $elem );
}
while( defined( $elem = $heap->extract_top ) ) {
print "Largest is ", $elem->val, "
";
}
DESCRIPTION
Heap::Elem::NumRev is used to wrap numeric values into an element that can be managed on a heap. The top of the heap will have the largest
element still remaining. (See Heap::Elem::Num if you want the heap to always return the smallest element.)
The details of the Elem interface are described in Heap::Elem.
The details of using a Heap interface are described in Heap.

Hello all,
I have a script which picks up a series of large numbers, each of which are actually amalgamations of a series of other numbers. Unfortunately there are no separator characters so I can't use awk -F. I am looking for a way of splitting them into variables according to their... (4 Replies)
Hi,
I' using bash and I would like to use "bc" to compute the ratio of of two numbers and assign the ratio to a variable.
The numbers are in a file, e.g.

Any idea how to do it?

Hi,
My requirement is I have an input file with a continuous series from 10000 to 99999. I have some numbers missing from those series. I want a output file which produces those missing numbers.

Hi all,
Looking for suggestions on a better way to sum numbers in a key value pair formated file. What I have works but seems really clunky to me. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
