quake-server [WRAPPER-OPTIONS] [ENGINE-OPTIONS] [ENGINE-COMMANDS]...
DESCRIPTION
This manual page documents briefly the quake-server command.
Quake is a popular first-person shooter game that appeared in 1996, released by iD Software. This wrapper script will launch the Quake
dedicated server.
The game data needs to be installed independently using the 'game-data-packager' program, and by default it will be looked for at
/usr/share/games/quake.
This wrapper script accepts the two common GNU-style options to get information on the program. Any further arguments are passed to the
engine unmodified. Consult the engine documentation for full details, but most engines support a syntax whereby engine switches are pre-
fixed with a minus sign, and you can give console commands by prefixing with a plus sign. See the examples section for some common cases.
OPTIONS
These options are accepted for WRAPPER-OPTIONS in the synopsis.
-h, --help
Show summary of options.
-v, --version
Show version of program.

darkplaces-server - an engine for iD software's Quake and related games
SYNOPSIS
darkplaces-server [ -options ] [ +set cvar value ] [ +console commands ]
DESCRIPTION
DarkPlaces is an engine for Quake and related games, with greatly enhanced effects and lighting and many features for mods. darkplaces-
server is the dedicated-server version of DarkPlaces, with fewer dependencies.
OPTIONS
This program follows the Quake convention, with long options starting with a single dash (`-'). Options include:
-basedir
Specify the location of the game data files.
-game Start the game using the files from a mission pack or a mod.
-hipnotic
Start the game with the Hipnotic mission pack.
-rogue Start the game with the Rogue mission pack.
-nexuiz
Expect the basedir to contain the standalone game Nexuiz, instead of Quake.
Various other mods and standalone games are supported, see /usr/share/doc/darkplaces-server/README.Debian.

Im goin to build a server soon, im planning to use it for a dedicated server for my favorite game counterstrike. I also want to use it as a file server for my lan, should i also make this server my internet gateway and dhcp server or should i just continue using my linksys router for those tasks? ... the install routine puts automatically the servername "SERVER" in the symlink like:
hello.txt --> /SERVER/usr/lpp/hello.txt
world.txt --> /SERVER/usr/lpp/world.txt
... but i need to change this symlinks (without servername) to:
