SYNOPSIS
bool Imagick::pingImageFile (resource $filehandle, [string $fileName])
DESCRIPTION
This method can be used to query image width, height, size, and format without reading the whole image to memory. This method is available
if Imagick has been compiled against ImageMagick version 6.2.9 or newer.
PARAMETERS
o $filehandle
- An open filehandle to the image.
o $fileName
- Optional filename for this image.
RETURN VALUES
Returns TRUE on success.

I need to process a file in real time as it is being FTPed from a remote server. In my test environment, I wrote a process that would:
1) Open the file - fopen(filename, "r")
2) Go to the offset where I left off on the previous itteration (fseek)

I'm working on installing ImageMagick and Imagick and could use some help. I have XAMPP installed on OS 10.5.8. I managed to get ImageMagick installed using macports. I then created a .bash_profile and added this path to it:
