iscsi_discovery(8) System Manager's Manual iscsi_discovery(8)NAME
iscsi_discovery - discover iSCSI targets
SYNOPSIS
iscsi_discovery <IP> [-p <port>] [-d] [-t <tcp|iser> [-f]] [-m] [-l]
DESCRIPTION
Perform send-targets discovery to the specified IP. If a discovery record is generated, try to login to the portal using the preferred
transport (-t flag specifies the requested transport type, TCP is the default). If login using a certain transport succeeds, mark the por-
tal for automatic login (unless -m flag is used), and disconnect (unless -l flag is used).
For iSCSI discovery to work, open-iscsi services must be running. i.e. iscsid should be up, and the iSCSI modules loaded. This is best
accomplished by the init.d startup script.
[-p=]port-number
set the port number (defualt is 3260).
[-d] print debugging information.
[-t=]transport-type
set transport (default is tcp).
[-f] force specific transport - disable the fallback to tcp (default is fallback enabled). force the transport specified by the argument
of the -t flag.
[-m] manual startup - will set manual startup (default is automatic startup).
[-l] login - login to the new discovered nodes (defualt is false).

iscsid - Open-iSCSI daemon
SYNOPSIS
iscsid [OPTION]

The iscsid implements the control path of iSCSI protocol, plus some management facilities. For example, the daemon could be configured to
automatically re-start discovery at startup, based on the contents of persistent iSCSI database.
OPTIONS
[-c|--config=]config-file
Read configuration from config-file rather than the default /etc/iscsi/iscsid.conf file.
[-i|--initiatorname=]iname-file
Read initiator name from iname-file rather than the default /etc/iscsi/initiatorname.iscsi file.
[-f|--foreground]
run iscsid in the foreground.
[-d|--debug=]debug_level
print debugging information. Valid values for debug_level are 0 to 8.
[-u|--uid=]uid
run under user ID uid (default is the current user ID)
[-g|--gid=]gid
run under user group ID gid (default is the current user group ID).
[-n|--no-pid-file]
do not write a process ID file.
[-p|--pid=]pid-file
write process ID to pid-file rather than the default /var/run/iscsid.pid
[-h|--help]
display this help and exit
[-v|--version]
display version and exit.
FILES
/etc/iscsi/iscsid.conf
The configuration file read by iscsid and iscsiadm on startup.
/etc/iscsi/initiatorname.iscsi
The file containing the iSCSI initiatorname and initiatoralias read by iscsid and iscsiadm on startup.
/etc/iscsi/nodes
Open-iSCSI persistent configuration database

Hi all, can anyone help me with this?
I'm running AIX 5L v5.3 base and installed CDE is 1.0. I've seen recommendations to add "-nolisten tcp" to the args for X but anytime I try that it simply fails to start. I've tried adding it as an arg to /usr/dt/config/Xservers as well as trying to add it... (0 Replies)
hi,
I have installed Solaris 10 10/08 on sparc machine. I would like to configure iSCSI on that to mount SAN Volumes. Is there any need to install any additional patches for iSCSI to work.
Thanks,

I want to execute a qt exe program at startup. That is after automatic login instead of loading Desktop and seeing it, the program quickly pop up to the screen.
