USB_SET_DEVICE_STATE(9) USB Core APIs USB_SET_DEVICE_STATE(9)NAME
usb_set_device_state - change a device's current state (usbcore, hcds)
SYNOPSIS
void usb_set_device_state(struct usb_device * udev, enum usb_device_state new_state);
ARGUMENTS
udev
pointer to device whose state should be changed
new_state
new state value to be stored
DESCRIPTION
udev->state is _not_ fully protected by the device lock. Although most transitions are made only while holding the lock, the state can can
change to USB_STATE_NOTATTACHED at almost any time. This is so that devices can be marked as disconnected as soon as possible, without
having to wait for any semaphores to be released. As a result, all changes to any device's state must be protected by the device_state_lock
spinlock.
Once a device has been added to the device tree, all changes to its state should be made using this routine. The state should _not_ be set
directly.
If udev->state is already USB_STATE_NOTATTACHED then no change is made. Otherwise udev->state is set to new_state, and if new_state is
USB_STATE_NOTATTACHED then all of udev's descendants' states are also set to USB_STATE_NOTATTACHED.

STRUCT USB_DEVICE_DR(9) Host-Side Data Types and Macro STRUCT USB_DEVICE_DR(9)NAME
struct_usb_device_driver - identifies USB device driver to usbcore
SYNOPSIS
struct usb_device_driver {
const char * name;
int (* probe) (struct usb_device *udev);
void (* disconnect) (struct usb_device *udev);
int (* suspend) (struct usb_device *udev, pm_message_t message);
int (* resume) (struct usb_device *udev, pm_message_t message);
struct usbdrv_wrap drvwrap;
unsigned int supports_autosuspend:1;
};
MEMBERS
name
The driver name should be unique among USB drivers, and should normally be the same as the module name.
probe
Called to see if the driver is willing to manage a particular device. If it is, probe returns zero and uses dev_set_drvdata to
associate driver-specific data with the device. If unwilling to manage the device, return a negative errno value.
disconnect
Called when the device is no longer accessible, usually because it has been (or is being) disconnected or the driver's module is being
unloaded.
suspend
Called when the device is going to be suspended by the system.
resume
Called when the device is being resumed by the system.
drvwrap
Driver-model core structure wrapper.
supports_autosuspend
if set to 0, the USB core will not allow autosuspend for devices bound to this driver.
DESCRIPTION
USB drivers must provide all the fields listed above except drvwrap.

Hello for all,
I am testing the behavior of a 32 bit application running on Solaris 5.10 (SPARC), and realize it reaches 4GB of memory and then crashes.
