programming in C in a unix environment

If you know C, and your are not doing any system programming, then you need not bother much about the operating system.
C is unique and very much portable, There is no difference in C language, you may have to get used with the following.
->The shell(bash, ksh , or any shell), for calling your compiler and running your program
->You may need to know a editor like notepad in windows
->vi is a faster editor, but good and little hard to learn
->else emacs kate or other available
->GCC(gnu compiler collection) is the popolur compiler
->make is a utility used to handle projects
->man printf would give help of printf function

Ideally your C program and output would work in a similar fashion, both in windows and linux
