Can anyone please explain me how can I add a new column to a Csv file ?
Actaully I am setting one set of commands and creating a CSV file with 4 columns.
I am executing another command and it's output should be added as column 5 with a column heading ?

Hi Friends,
I have come across some files where some of the columns don not have data.
Key, Data1,Data2,Data3,Data4,Data5
A,5,6,,10,,
A,3,4,,3,,
B,1,,4,5,,
B,2,,3,4,,
If we see the above data on Data5 column do not have any row got filled. So remove only that column(Here Data5) and... (4 Replies)

I want the colums to be added and the output must be

I want to select the first column from a daily file called foo.csv. The result is written to file foo.txt. Currently the following script is used for that:
cut -d, -f 1 foo.csv > foo.txt
A typical result would yield :

I want to add 3 different columns to the file in which:
1. The first new column pulls in today's date and time
2. Second column one has a '0'
3. Third column has the word 'ANY' going down the column
