when I boot the server I get this 2 errors :
the disk drive for /tmp is not ready yet or not present
the disk drive for /boot is not ready yet or not present
and its stay like that , I m using Ubuntu 12.04

Hi all,
Q1) Due to application requirement, i am required to have more swap space.
Currently my swap is on a partition with 32GB.
I have another partition with 100GB, but it already has a UFS filesystem on it.
Can i just swap -d /dev/dsk/current32gb and swap -a /dev/dsk/ufs100gb ?

Using 'swap -l' I can get the disk based portion of swap.
What if the swap (/usr/bin/swap) command isn't available. What are my options then? Could I get this number with kstat?
From /etc/vfstab, I can see the partitions that are reserved for swap.

I have to write a shell script that compresses files and stores them in a specific location but I am not sure how "conservative" I should be?
