Hello,
I've just started using a Solaris machine with SunOS 5.10.
After the machine is turned on, I open a Console window and at the prompt, if I execute a pwd command, it tells me I'm at my home directory (someone configured "myuser" as default user after init).

Hello,
I would like to ask if someone knows if is possible to install sofware via smitty or installp in another directorie , or we have to accept the default location?
i would like to intall in /opt folder , but smitty installed it in /usr

I bought Solaris 10 some years ago and am now trying to use it. The install (on an Ultra 5) went ok but /home is unwritable. ls -l shows only Total 0. chmod won't add any permissions and the file manager shows the permissions to be n/a. Hi,
I've created solaris user which has both FTP and SFTP Access. Using the "ftpaccess" configuration file options "guest-root" and "restricted-uid", i can restrict the user to a specific directory. But I'm unable to restrict the user when the user is logged in using SFTP.
